Update!

We will find out the sex of the baby Tuesday! Honestly, I'm hoping for a boy, but I know either way we will be elated! AJ's going to be a great big sister. I can't wait until she has someone to play with.

AJ has been up to a lot lately:

Holidays 2009

A lot has happened since my last update. MawMaw died in November. At 96, she lived a very full and rewarding life. She touched so many peoples lives. I know I'm not the only one who will miss her deeply.
Our Thanksgiving was spent at Joseph's Aunt Rita and Uncle Mike's house. It was great seeing all the relatives again. Aunt Bobbie Jean got a lesson on pistol shootin'. I'd hate to be on the wrong end of her gun; she doesn't mess around! It was a day full of good family, good food, and lots of laughs!
Black Friday was delightfully unhaustle, but painfully crowded. The one thing we were absolutely set on getting for AJ was out of stock. But besides that set back we got about 99% of our Christmas shopping done!
The annual baking week started the Friday before Christmas. Cheese rings, sausage balls, chocolate chip and m&m cookies, gingerbread cooking, sugar cookies, trash mix, peanut butter and chocolate fudge, chocolate and pecan pies, carrot cake, and coconut cake; OH MY!!! Of course, everything was made completely from scratch, which made it all the more yummy!
On Christmas eve we all gathered at Bobby Jean's house to devour all the sweet goodies, as well as some tasty homemade hash. We exchanged our secret Santa gifts and enjoyed each other's company immensely.
Christmas day was full of wonder. AJ was very into it this year! She was a little slow opening her gifts, but she seemed to love each of them. She looked so cute in her new pj's. Her big gift was a kitchen, which she adores. After breakfast at Becca's courtesy of Phillip, we headed to PawPaw Whitey's house for more family eating-together. Saturday, we headed north to VA to visit me family. It was nice to spend time with my brother and his daughters. There was still some snow on the ground and AJ had a great time in it.
New Year's Eve was pretty uneventful. we stayed home and watched movies; missed the ball drop by 3 minutes. we went into AJ's room to tell her Happy New Year's and then went to bed. We're old people now, it seems.
Our holiday's were great and I can't wait 'til next year!

Halloween

AJ was the cutest cowgirl for Halloween (I know, I'm late)! She had a blast going trick-or-treating! She held on to that pumpkin bucket for dear life! Even when it was starting to get heavy, she refused to let me or Joseph help her. She can be stubborn when she gets set in her ways! The weather was pretty awful that day, but luckily we were given about an hour with no rain to hit up the neighbors. Boy, it sure was hot though, and humid. We all had fun though, so it was worth sweating through!

A Busy Day Off!

The day started off with breakfast making, dish washing, and laundry. I finally got to clean up AJ's room from when she and Luke played Friday. That room was a mess! It seemed like they opened every box and just dumped out the contents. There were My Pretty Ponies and Little People everywhere! Not to mention the 4 decks of flash cards strewn across the room! But they had fun and kept themselves occupied, so I suppose it was worth a half hour of cleaning.
I made Joseph's birthday cake this evening. It's a yellow and fudge marble sheet cake. Tomorrow I'll apply chocolate fudge icing. I haven't decided how to decorate it yet. Tomorrow he'll be 25! We're going to celebrate by having his family come over and share cake and ice cream. I'm excited, I love having guests!

Well, I have clothes to put in the dryer and towels to fold! Hopefully I'll get to bed soon! 'Night!

Trip to Grammy's!

It's amazing how the leaves have turned so much faster in VA than in SC! Everything is pretty much still green in Rock Hill while the mountains are a beautiful shade of orange.
We went to see my parents in VA this weekend and to vist my grandmother in the nursing home. We had fun! AJ got to play with my parent's foster son, Christopher. (We just passed a man who looked like he wrecked his motorcycle on the interstate! Say a prayer!) They had fun together. Last night we built a fire and roasted marshmellows. My mom and sister surprised me and Joseph with our own birthday cakes (J is 10/27, I'm 11/02).
We're thinking about holloween costumes for AJ. Cracker Barrel has really cute bumble bee and lady bug fairy costumes. We're going to check Target as well. I can't wait to take her trick-or-treating. Last year she wasn't able to walk (she was only 5 months old). This year she'll be able to walk and I'm going to work with her to say "trick-or-treat". She's gonna be so cute!
