Hallelujah, He is Raised!
1st Corinthians 15: 3-4
3 I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. 4 He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said.
I believe in Jesus Christ. I believe He is the Son of God. I believe He was born of a virgin. I believe He was crucified and died on a cross for my sins. I believe He was raised from the dead. Why do I believe? I have tasted and seen that the Lord is good. I don't pray to a dead god. I pray to a living Father. I laid all my doubts at the alter and the Lord has honored my faithfulness. I'm blessed with more than I deserve.
"If Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is
your faith.” (1 Corinthians 15:14)
My faith definitely is not useless. Jesus Christ is raised, indeed. Hallelujah, He is raised!

Doing Great Work
AJ is watching cartoons. Colleen is taking a mid morning nap. Joseph is at the men's prayer breakfast. I'm more tired than I should be so early in the day. My house is reletively quiet (except for the aforementioned cartoons and the hum of the dryer). And though I should really start my Easter cooking, I'm enjoying this small dose of solitude. I know in about 5 minutes it will be over. How long can a cartoon REALLY keep a not-quite-three-year-old's attention? She's already starting to get restless...
I hope you have a peaceful Saturday-before-Easter. And while your cooking and cleaning and preparing Easter baskets, keep Jesus in mind. Right about now, His body was lying in a tomb and His spirit was alive doing great work.
1 Peter 3: 18-19
18: For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;
19: in which also He went and made proclamation to the spirits now in prison

A Good Friday Post
It has rained twice this morning. It has let up now, but I can't help but think it a fitting start to this Good Friday. As important as Easter Sunday is, it wouldn't be possible without Good Friday. So thankful am I for my salvation and the sacrifice that made it possible!
1 Peter 2:24
Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
The cross was two pieces of dead wood; and a helpless, unresisting Man was nailed to it; yet it was mightier than the world, and triumphed, and will ever triumph over it.
-Augustus William Hare
Our Lord has written the promise of the resurrection, not in books alone but in every leaf in springtime.
-Martin Luther

What a Weekend!
So, I've had quite a busy weekend. Friday and Saturday was full of tornado watches and severe thunderstorms. We had plans to attend a kid's carnival and fireworks Saturday, but they were, of course, postponed. Sunday was gorgeous, so we took advantage of the nice weather and hit the flea market. Church ran a little long, so we got to the market late and missed the good stuff, but it was still nice to be out in the fresh air.
Now it's Monday; time to start the week all over again. With Easter coming up this Sunday, I've really got to get started preparing. I'll take pictures of AJ and Colleen tomorrow and dye eggs sometime before Sunday. Plus I've got to decide what to cook for Easter dinner and then COOK it! Hopefully I won't wait 'til the very last minute like I have the tendency to do. Here's to a busy week ahead!

Herps Alive! at Winthrop University
Today the girls and I went to Winthrop University to see the Herps Alive! exihibit. AJ loves frogs and snakes and lizards and the like, so I knew this would be a big hit for her. She catches frogs and lizards all the time, but she's never held a snake before. Today, she got her chance!

Get rewarded for Recycling!
From Recycle Bank's website:
What is Recycle Bank?
We’re a group of passionate people who’ve made it our mission to inspire others to take action – small to big – that will have a positive impact on our planet.
We trade the actions you make that have a positive impact on your home by saving energy, community by recycling and the environment by conserving natural resources for points that you can use for rewards you choose. Those rewards come in a variety of flavors: Products, discounts and coupons from the world’s leading brands (think: Kashi, Footlocker, Dunkin Donuts), or you can pay the good deed forward by donating your points to support environmental education in schools.
Through these rewards programs, we not only help our own neighborhoods and cities, but we can see what how collective actions result in one serious collective impact. It’s our world, let’s better it together.
How does Recycle Bank work?
It's really pretty simple; you select a green action you want to be rewarded for and each time we have confirmation that you've done it, either through a points code or by recycling, we'll award you Recyclebank Points. These points can be used for rewards at local and national retailers and online.
I can't wait to start earning my rewards!
